The tibialis anterior tendon serves the tibialis anterior muscle, an elongated, spindle-shaped muscle located on the front of the lower leg. It is a dorsal flexor of the foot. The tibialis anterior tendon inserts on the first metatarsal and medial cuneiform bone.
