Iliofemoral Ligament
The "iliofemoral ligament" is a Y-shaped band of very strong fibers
that connects the lower front iliac spine of the coxal bone to a bony
line (intertrochanteric line) extending between the greater and lesser
trochanters of the femur (thighbone). The iliofemoral ligament is the
strongest ligament in the body. It helps to prevent extension of the
femur when the body is standing erect.
